Questions I get asked a lot.

I've been diagnosed with a medical condition. Can I still get life insurance?

Depending on the condition, yes. I've seen clients with diabetes, colitis and even cancer get approved. Some companies will charge a higher premium if you have a diagnosis, but there are insurers in Canada that may still offer you a standard rate. If you have a diagnosis and need coverage, the best thing to do is apply with the right insurance company and let their underwriters decide on your risk and eligibility.

How long should my life insurance last?

It depends on your situation. Some people only need coverage for a set period, like 10 or 20 years. Others need permanent insurance that lasts their whole life, and some need a bit of both. Term and permanent each have their advantages. The best way to figure it out is to meet and talk through your situation and goals. After that, it'll be clear which type makes sense for you and why.
